Vehicle requirements - Rubicon 4x4 events

As long as you have a few essentials you are welcome to participate in one of my events and use your own 4x4.

Here is the ideal set up for Rubicon events:
short wheel base 4x4 (CJ, YJ, TJ, JK, FJ40)
35" tires (lwb 37")
proper lift (long arm recommended)
80:1 crawl ratio with stick
50:1 crawl ratio with automatic
ARB lockers front & rear (or stock Jeep lockers)
Sun rocker panel protection

Here is what's acceptable:
short wheel base 4x4 (CJ, YJ, TJ, JK, FJ)
some long wheel base (JK)
min. 33" tires
some lift
40:1 crawl ratio with stick
27:1 crawl ratio with automatic
some rear locker (Jeep, ARB, Detroit, Ox, Eaton etc.)

Under no circumstance acceptable:
Full size or long wheel base 4x4
a 4x4 with running boards
tires smaller than 33"
limited slip

However, I might allow exemptions from the "no long wheel base" rule. Please contact me with your details.

You may have noticed that I didn't list winches, beadlocks, HiLift jacks, rock bumpers, K&N filters (yikes!!), lights or any of the many other things you could buy. Since they don't really increase off-road performance they are not listed here.

Please note: The Rubicon Trail is a pretty mean trail. So, expect some scratches depending on how well you drive.

If I did not cover your setup - don't hesitate to ask me anyway.

I should not really need to mention it, but I will: Main focus aside from driving techniques and valuable background information during all classes will be your personal safety.
