If you plan on joining the group later than Saturday morning: The itinerary (see bottom of this page) is to let you know where the group is during that particular day and where the group will be over night.

Itinerary

Saturday, breakfast 8:00 am, don't know which restaurant, look for an unusual number G-Wagen, or call me on 323.646.3856
head out at 9:00, air down your tires before breakfast (2/3 of your normal tire pressure), gas up before 9:00
Leave Lone Pine, head for Swansea (you could meet us there around 9:30), head up trail to Burgess Mine, beautiful drive, stop at Burgess, beautiful views, drive along ridge, stop at machine house for tramway, head for Cerro Gordo mine, stunning drive, head down towards San Lucas Cyn, head for Lee Flat, possible camping site on a side trail away from the main road. Fastest access is from Hwy 190 (15 to 20 minutes) - try to contact the group with your FRS radio on channel 11. We have 3 choices and I will check them out in this order for suitability:

I will leave G-signs at intersections to indicate where the group has gone and when.
If you are trying to catch up with the group, try FRS radio on CH 11, or try my sat phone 254.204.0690 (coverage is intermittend and you might have to try several times)

Sunday, head out no later than 9:00
follow old trail close to Saline Valley Rd (N 36-29-27.36, W117-35-55.71), stunning view into Panamint Valley, drive through pine trees in Hunter Mountains, down into Hiden Valley, great views, check out Harris Mine, head for Teakettle Junction, fast + dusty drive, head for Racetrack, check out the moving rocks, adventurous drive down Lippincott Mine Rd, down into Saline Valley, head for the Hot Springs (we will be at the middle spring also called Palm Spring), we will camp there.GPS: N 36-48-46.11, W117-45-58.13,
Drive time: from Big Pine (395 north) 2.5 hours - from Olancha (395 south) 2.5 hours.

Monday, head out no later than 10:00
drive up towards Steele Pass, hike into Vagina Cyn (1.5 hour roundtrip), head for Steele Pass, some minor off-road challenges (please take it easy!), visit Marble Bath, replace marbles (informal ceremony), head for Dedeckera Cyn, some cool narrow spots are waiting for us, head for Eureka Dunes, camp with view of the dunes. Drive time from Big Pine: 1 hour.

Tuesday, head out no later than 9:00
head for Hanging Rock Cyn, drive down Death Valley Rd (first part is dirt, then asphalt), get gas at Furnace Creek Ranch, get more supplies and ice, possibly have lunch at the restaurant, head for Echo Cyn, beautiful and challenging drive up Echo Cyn into Nevada, possible stop at Inyo Mine, head for Hwy 95, Hotel and dinner in Beatty NV. Please make reservations in one of the many hotels in Beatty.

Wednesday, head out around 10:00
drive south in Death Valley (a drive through Titus Cyn is possible), we could go on a short hike into Mosaik Cyn (close to Stovepipe Wells), stop at Badwater, head for Warm Springs Cyn, Visit Geologist Cabin, drive over Mengel Pass, visit the Charly Manson hangout (Barker Ranch), possibly camp in the canyon (if we decide for the Titus Cyn drive, our camp site could be in Ashford Cyn).
