Mercedes-Benz ML430

With a 268-horsepower 4.3-liter V8
engine and driver-adaptive five-speed automatic transmission, the
1999 Mercedes-Benz ML430 sets new standards for midsize SUV performance,
including 0-60 miles per hour in about eight seconds and, on the German
autobahn, a 130 mph top speed -- while maintaining an unparalleled
fun-to-drive quotient in the sport-utility category.
The first lucky owners took delivery of their ML430 in October 1998.
Priced under $45,000 the ML430 will outshine its competition with technology
such as four-wheel independent suspension, 4ETS,
and standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
Visually, the ML430 exterior can be distinguished from its V6 sibling with
body-color bumpers, rocker panels and side moldings as well as super wide
performance oriented 275/55R17 seven spoke alloy wheels.
